Com o retorno gradual das atividades na cidade de Caxias do Sul em razão do coronavírus, o Centro de Atendimento ao Migrante (CAM), mantido pela Associação Educadora São Carlos (AESC), ampliou suas atividades presenciais, com restrições, nesta quarta-feira, 22 de abril. Desde o início de março, estavam sendo feitas apenas entregas de cestas básicas a imigrantes e refugiados. A partir de agora, a equipe também orienta imigrantes e refugiados sobre o auxílio emergencial de R$ 600,00 disponibilizado pelo Governo Federal, por meio da Caixa Econômica Federal. Os serviços podem ser acessados exclusivamente mediante agendamento pelo telefone (54) 3027-3360, em dias úteis, das 13h às 17h. Todas as outras atividades oferecidas no local estão suspensas nesse momento.
Doações beneficiam imigrantes
Desde o mês de março, o CAM tem recebido o apoio extra de diversas pessoas e entidades para atividades assistenciais, como a coleta e o encaminhamento de roupas, alimentos e produtos de higiene pessoal e limpeza. Entre os doadores está o Banco de Alimentos do RS, com 120 cestas básicas nesse período, além de 60 caixas de suco e frutas. Até o momento, mais de 100 famílias foram beneficiadas com itens doados por pessoas físicas e jurídicas.
