Em meio ao maior desafio da saúde mundial dos últimos anos, uma área vem sendo lembrada e homenageada no mundo inteiro como essencial à humanidade: a enfermagem. Com a chegada da pandemia, muitas pessoas estão reconhecendo o valor destes profissionais que estão na linha de frente de combate ao coronavírus. Por isso, nada mais justo que uma semana de homenagens a eles.
A Semana de Enfermagem da Associação Educadora São Carlos (AESC) inicia hoje, 12 de maio, Dia Internacional da Enfermagem, e vai até 20 de maio, Dia Nacional dos Técnicos e Técnicas de Enfermagem e tem como tema “Guardiões da Vida”. A homenagem iniciou na noite de segunda-feira, 11, e foi finalizada no início da manhã de terça-feira,12, na unidade do Hospital Mãe de Deus (HMD) da Av. José de Alencar, 286, com uma intervenção artística do grafiteiro Dêivide Bizer, que ofereceu à instituição sua obra como reconhecimento ao trabalho destes profissionais. Na pintura, o artista traz uma imagem de uma árvore, que simboliza a vida, e a de um profissional da enfermagem, como o seu guardião. Assim como nossos enfermeiros, que acolhem, cuidam, consolam, e são responsáveis pela recuperação de muitas vidas.
O trabalho do artista também será feito nas demais unidades de saúde de Porto Alegre: Hospital Santa Ana, Centros de Atenção Psicossocial Álcool e Drogas (CAPS) AD III e AD IV, HMD Unidade Carlos Gomes, HMD Unidade de Radioterapia, e os Hospitais do litoral: Santa Luzia, em Capão da Canoa, e Nossa senhora dos Navegantes, em Torres.
A temática dos Guardiões da Vida também estará presente em uma série de vídeos que a área de Educação Corporativa da AESC preparou para trabalhar sete condições de saúde e bem-estar com as equipes: atenção plena, autocontrole, generosidade, resiliência, apreciação à beleza, compaixão e gratidão.
Mãe da enfermagem moderna
O dia 12 de maio foi escolhido como homenagem a Florence Nightingale, considerada a “mãe” da enfermagem moderna. Em 2020, é celebrado o seu bicentenário de nascimento. De nacionalidade inglesa, ela nasceu em Florença, na Itália. Aos 17 anos, Florence decidiu ser enfermeira, acreditando ter um chamado de Deus para fazer enfermagem. Foi na guerra da Crimeia, em que o Reino Unido participou entre 1853 e 1856, que o seu trabalho se tornou mais conhecido e ela foi chamada de “Dama da Lâmpada”, instrumento que usava durante a noite para atender aos feridos. Em 1860 ele fundou a primeira Escola de Enfermagem secular do mundo na Inglaterra.
